  FAB LASHES EYELASH EXTENSIONS

Cleaning & Caring For Your Eyelash Extensions

At Fab Lashes we believe in helping all lash wearers to know exactly how to care for their lashes at home – looking after your lashes correctly will keep your eyes and natural lashes perfectly healthy allowing you to wear your beautiful lash extensions for as long as you wish!

Lash Extensions are a relatively new industry and as such application techniques and general care are evolving on a daily basis.  One of the most recent developments in the lash industry worldwide has helped us with after care techniques that reduce the possibility of sensitivities and reactions occuring – we do this by ‘snap curing’ lash extensions on the day of application – this is done by the lash artist using either a sealer or nano mister – this special ‘quick’ curing of lash extension adhesives helps to prevent the fumes that develop while adhesives are left to cure slowly over a couple of days and which in turn would often irritate the sensitive eye area.

This technique means that lashes are waterproof immediately, so no need to avoid water for days – in fact, it’s very important that you wash your lashes every night, particularly the first night of application to remove any fumes that may have been formed and become trapped in the lash extension during the curing process.   One of the greatest benefits of this snap curing is that lashes have been found to last much longer as the bonding process is not as easily disrupted – WOOHOO!

So…….here’s the lowdown on how we recommend caring for your lashes now:

The First Two Days

At Fab Lashes we promote ‘snap’ curing of lash adhesive with an atomizer to reduce the possibility of sensitivity reactions occurring.  This means that you can, and should, wash your lashes every night, particularly on the night of application.

We have provided below a recipe for a Lash Shampoo that is perfect (and inexpensive) for use at home.

  • Wash lashes thoroughly every night – particularly the night of application to remove any fumes formed during the curing process that may be trapped in the lashes and could cause irritation overnight.
  • For best results avoid spas, tanning and excessive steam for 48 hours – take care when showering, exercising and opening microwaves, ovens etc.

Day to Day Care

It is of the utmost importance that the eye area and lashes are kept clean even if wearing lash extensions, failure to do so can result in irritation and possible infection and subsequent damage to natural lashes – and we don’t want that do we!!

  • Clean lashes daily using our recommended lash shampoo (see below for recipe and instructions)
  • We recommend blow drying your lashes on a cool setting following washing – then groom with mascara wand
  • Avoid any oil based products near lashes as these will weaken the bond of the adhesive.
  • Groom lashes every day, especially in the morning; this will help to keep them looking beautiful at all times and helps to keep them nicely separated.
  • Treat lashes gently – no rubbing, pulling, picking or tugging.
  • Do not use waterproof mascara or perm/tint lash extensions.
  • Use Fab Lashes waterproof coating sealant 2-3 times a week to extend the life of lash extensions and help to maintain isolation.
  • We recommend the use of our Fab Lashes Lashurious Lash Conditioner to keep natural lashes in top condition.
